Missions originated with 12 Jewish Apostle in Israel who traveled around the world to spread the gospel. In the centuries that followed the apostolic era; churches around the world sent messengers from everywhere to everywhere.
Missions took a turn in the 19th-most of the 20th century due largely to colonialism and was comprised of missiological operations from U.S. and Europe to other regions around the world.
In the 21st century, the operations of global missions is once again from everywhere to everywhere. Missions from various regions of the world are mutually operating in other regions. GMNF Global Mission Society's internal and partner personnel who are located in local regions and travel to other regions around the world are uniquely position to function in 21st century global missiological work
